Blendabilities are HERE!

Starting Tuesday, July 1, customers can order Blendabilities, the new alcohol-based markers from Stampin' UP.  This is so exciting!

I got my Blendabilities through a pre-order (I LOVE being a Stampin' UP Demonstrator!) and have been playing with them for a few weeks.  I love the way they color on Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock--so smooth--and the colors are luscious.

Six colors plus the skin-tone package are available now.  The other six colors will be coming soon, but why wait?  This is the ideal opportunity for you to start playing and learn your technique.

And speaking of technique, here are some videos produced by Stampin' UP for you to see "how I blend with Blendabilities".  Enjoy!

And YOUR Blendabilities can be ordered here.  NOW!

Pumpkin Projects

Have you heard of My Paper Pumpkin?

This monthly subscription service brings a bright orange box to your mailbox each month, filled with all you need to create a surprise project.  It may be cards, it may be paper crafts.  And it gives you 30 minutes of crafting fun every month!

Our June kit was wonderful--pinwheels for the 4th of July.  But I didn't stop at pinwheels...take a look at what else I was able to make from my kit:

First up is the actual pinwheel and goodie bag that the kit is meant to make.  There are 24 pinwheels (so easy to put together with the large brad--included).  This is attached to a striped straw and then I put some patriotic gummy bears in the included goodie bag, tied it up with the (included) bakers twine, stamped the stars (stamps included!) with Night of Navy (included ink spot) and clipped it to the bag with (you guessed it--the included) clips!  So cute!

But wait...there's more:
I took a few of the pinwheels and used them for a decor item--just had to add a little crimped and crumpled red cardstock to my vase and voila--instant centerpiece!

Then I added a wall decoration:
By cutting up one of the red pinwheel pieces, I made a banner (with the "included" bakers twine).

And finally (because I'm an over-achiever):
This cute paper wreath!  Just took a wreath form, pinned 12 of the pinwheels to it, and made a little banner using the (included) paper straws and (included) banner strips!

I'm ready for the 4th!  How about you?

Want to join in the fun?  I'm starting an exclusive Pumpkin Pals club each month just for subscribers.  Click the link to the right to join, and you'll be invited to my club where you'll bring your Pumpkin, create the contents AND make another project using your supplies and a few of my goodies.  This is FREE for subscribers.  Can't make it in person?  I'll be happy to send you photos and instructions on how to make our alternate project.  What's stopping you?  Join now!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

My Dad's 87th birthday was last week!  He jokes that he has no idea how he got that old...and you'd never know he is by looking at him.

I always make my cards for family, and I had lots of new toys to play with.  So this is what I created:

I loved the stamp set, Big News, when I first saw it.  Such fun phrases for all those special occasions.  So I used "it's your birthday" as a starting point, along with the wonderful Maritime Designer Series Paper (love!).  I carefully stamped the phrase in Versamark on Night of Navy cardstock, and embossed it using White Embossing Powder and my trusty heat tool.  This was layered on a slightly larger piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Next I made a banner using Whisper White and Real Red (run through the Stylish Stripes embossing folder), and added that to a piece of Real Red that was embossed with the Chevron folder.

In order to distress this piece, I lightly dragged a Whisper White craft pad over it, then cut out "D-A-D" using my new Little Letters framelits.  Punching out another piece of Maritime using the Banner punch, I added these with a bow of White Bakers Twine to create a mini banner.

The base of the card is Whisper White with the "sailors knot" DSP in Navy; all layers were added with Dimensionals.  Finally a little arrow was cut twice in White and Red, using the arrow from the Label Card Framelit.

Inside--more toys!
"enjoy the fuss" and the little candle are from Big News, while the Happy Birthday is from Occasions 4 You.  I used the Simply Scored board to score lines around the edge--I think embossed edges make such a nice addition.

And finally--an envelope.
The Envelope Punch Board makes it so easy to create envelopes for unusual-sized cards.  Maritime DSP made matching the card easy peasy!

Happy Birthday, Dad!  I love you!

Happy Father's Day!

To all the fathers out there, I wish you a Happy Father's Day!  I'm fortunate to still have my dad, and am married to a dad, and my son is a dad...looking forward to speaking with two of them and spoiling the other (can you guess which ones?).

So here's a cute Father's Day card I made for my dad:

When I first saw this set, Something for Baby, with the matching Baby's First framelits, I decided I didn't need it.  Then, as often happens, I saw some cute samples, and suddenly I HAD to have it!  The only stamp I really wanted was this tie (but of course, I'll use all the other stamps soon).

I stamped the tie in Real Red and Night of Navy, and cut them out with the framelits.  I also cut one using the Maritime Designer Series Paper

These were all adhered to a piece of Coastal Cabana card stock, which was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Whisper White

I ran a piece of Night of Navy through the Big Shot using the Stylish Stripes embossing folder, and placed that on another piece of the Maritime DSP.  This was all mounted on the card base of Coastal Cabana.

The cute phrase is from Banner Banter, stamped using Stampin' Write markers in Coastal Cabana and Real Red, and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits.  I cut another one from Real Red, and the two bubbles are offset and popped up with Dimensionals.

Carrying the theme of "you're the best" to the inside, I found this sentiment, from And Many More:

And of course, what's a special card without a special envelope?

The tie was stamped one more time in Night of Navy on the front, next to the address.

What do you think?  Will my dad know that he's my favorite dad?
